Can't download music

Post by edoctors » Tue Apr 14, 2009 12:02 am

I downloaded audacity for the ibook G4 and when I import song from itunes, they come out less than 2 seconds in length, with a big screech. Is their any way to edit songs purchased through itunes on a MAC? Thanks!

Not easily, no; the accursed things come with Digital Rights Management. But you could burn them to a CD and then rip the CD. That's the classic solution. Or there are ways to record what your computer is playing, like Soundflower. People say that can make your system unstable, though it's worked for me. (But I've never tried to use it to circumvent DRM; I don't know if the Apple system has some way of preventing that workaround.) --Allen

<<<a big screech.>>>

That's usually just Audacity trying to play Apple AAC compressed sound files. For the solution in all cases, See: McBride.
