It's easy to forget the forum is the concentrated Audacity dialog of Planet Earth.all these problems
Some people post who are reading for audiobooks and using a microphone for the first time. This has little or nothing directly to do with Audacity. They would be having exactly the same troubles with any software package.
It does get our attention when a wide selection of users have exactly the same problem. That could be an actual program error.
We should remember there's a difference between accidental program misbehavior and unfortunate behavior that was intentional.
All these variations appear on the forum.
