I am doing a project. It is a 2 minute call to action or infomercial. I need to promote an artist and talk about him and play music continuous music the entire 2 minutes. I have all my music editted. It is all on separate tracks. How do I move the music to get it all on one line. Please be specific because I cannot find the tool or where to go. Also when I record my voice, how can I move parts of my recording and add music to parts where I just need music? Any help would be great. Also could you tell me how to post this so everyone can see it please.
Thank You

Re: Audacity help
You've posted your question successfully. To move different parts of a clip around, first select the part you want to move around, then use "Split" under "Edit". This will move it to a new track, and you can use the Move tool (bottom-middle icon of the six in the upper-left of the screen) to move it around. (You might want to try Audacity 1.3, where you can move parts of clips around without each part being its own track). Once you get everything in place, select all your tracks and then use "Quick Mix" under "Project". Let us know if you need more help. --Allen

Re: Audacity help
I am in need of some help. Here's the deal. I have six individual tracks of music on separate lines. I need to record my voice over these music tracks. How do I do this? There are some parts where I need only music and other parts where I need to be speaking and have music in the background. When I tried to do this, my music was soft and my voice was way too over powering. I need specific details, steps on figuring out how to do this because I am really confused.

Re: Audacity help
There is a little volume slider just to the left of each track. You can adjust each track up or down (and left to right) to produce a pleasant mix. The volumes should stay the way you left them when you Export for the CD.
You should mix on good headphones or really good speakers. Most "computer speakers" are useless for editing. Headphones are harder to use, but they let you hear damage before the speakers.
