Dont' have Preferences under Editting!!!!

Dont' have Preferences under Editting!!!!
Okay so I want to record but I want to record while listenning to the music I am singing along to...But it's not working the way I wanted to so I came on here. The thing is I don't have preferences under edit when I am on my wavepad software. Please help anyone!!!
