That this mean the support of WV files is not planned; that there haven't been any progress in that matter?

Audacity can import WavPack files if you install FFmpeg (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown)
For exporting lossless compressed files, you could use FLAC - the compression ratio and encoding / decoding speeds are similar and both are lossless.
