WavPack support

Post by Worez » Sat Mar 05, 2016 12:06 pm

I have found this post from almost 10 years ago: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,44147.0.html

That this mean the support of WV files is not planned; that there haven't been any progress in that matter?

Audacity can import WavPack files if you install FFmpeg (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#ffdown)
For exporting lossless compressed files, you could use FLAC - the compression ratio and encoding / decoding speeds are similar and both are lossless.

For further reference, here is a "fairly accurate" list of formats that can be imported or exported if you install the recommended FFmpeg 2.2.2: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/FFmpe ... tion#table.
