Well the developers are working with a 1.3.8 Alpha - so there's a chance thay it might get released as Beta .... AFAIK the focus at the moment is on bug-fixing with no functionality extension.

Re: When will 1.3.x be out of Beta version
I'm hoping that 1.3.8 beta is released soon (or whatever it will be called) - there are lots of bug fixes in 1.3.8 alpha and IMHO it is a more practical option for a reliable, stable audio editor than the current beta (not to say that 1.3.7 is bad, just that 1.3.8 alpha is better and would probably reduce the number of problem posts here on the forum).
The only really "New Features" in 1.3.8 that I've noticed are; Nyquist has been updated for the first time in years, and a "Split to Mono" option has been added to the drop down track menu. I think that some of the built in effects have been updated and possibly one or two new ones added. There has been some pretty major reworking of the device selection which resolves issues that some were having with certain hardware and a reworking of the way that Audacity redraws the waveforms (improving responsiveness when working with multiple tracks). As well as that, a lot of bug fixes.
Perhaps the next version will be a "Release Candidate" for 2.0?
Mostly so, though there has also been some "tidying up" of various features that are not strictly "bugs" (such as a new layout of "Preferences").waxcylinder wrote:AFAIK the focus at the moment is on bug-fixing with no functionality extension.
