Error msg when trying to use...

Hey everyone...Heres my first noob question...But first...
I bought a Behringer mixer for our band and it came with a UCA 200 audio interface as well as the link to download Audacity...
I downloaded it and hooked it up and was able to do a little recording on my laptop...The next day I hooked up my laptop again and I got a error msg.that read...
Error while opening sound device.Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate....
So anyway,when I was unable to figure it out on my own I removed and reinstalled Audacity thinking that would solve the problem...All I did was unplug the audio interface so I could take my laptop to work...Came home and plugged it back in...

I have a PC whose "natural" USB connections work when they feel like it. It took me forever trying to figure that out. I gently bumped the connection once behind the machine while I was doing something else and the machine went nuts. I solved it by adding a little third party card that had addition USBs and they work just fine with good stability.

I don't know that it's possible to clean a USB connection, but maybe it's time I found out.

Thank you for your reply...It was set to 6 channels and I switched it to 1 channel mono...It works fine now???
