Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan & Audacity not working

Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules
ImageThis forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Hi Koz,
I've resorted to using a PC laptop to record and then edit on my Mac unit this is sorted out with Mac. I got all done fortunately. Thanks for all your support and I'm trusting Mac will squash this bug asap!

Only saw your reply now - thanks so much for that. I'll just keep waiting and see what Apple and Audacity come up with to sort it out...

The 10.11.1 update for El Capitan is available in the app store:

No news about USB updates. But those are probably not worth mentioning?
