Forum rules
ImageThis forum is for Audacity on GNU/Linux.
Please state:
  • which version of Linux you are using,
  • the exact three-section version number of Audacity from Help menu > About Audacity,
  • whether you installed your distribution's release, PPA version, or compiled Audacity from source code.

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade (see https://www.audacityteam.org/download/).
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

My computer is Linux Mint 64. I installed Audacity 2.0.5
How do I configure a Samson Go Mic for this version of Audacity on my Linux operating system?

Thank you,
Glory13

Connect the mic before launching Audacity.

Select the mic as the recording device in Device Toolbar. It will probably be called "USB Audio CODEC (hw:1,0)" or similar.

This only works if only Audacity is using the mic. If you need other apps to be using the mic simultaneously, install pavucontrol (PulseAudio Volume Control), make the mic the recording device in PulseAudio Volume Control, then choose the "pulse" or "default" recording device in Audacity.

Your mic is 44100 Hz, so set that rate as project rate bottom left of Audacity.
