Running Audacity with Windows 10 [SOLVED]
I have run into a problem with running Audacity on Windows 10. Whenever I run it, it doesn't recognize the soundcard anymore. My soundcard runs fine with all other types of software. Is this a compatibility issue with Audacity and Windows 10? Are you working on a solution for the problem? Right now, I am using WavPad as an alternative, but I would prefer to use Audacity because I have been using it for years now to record my internet radio show and I am so used to how it runs.

What version of Audacity are you using now? See the pink panel at the top of the page.incubus442 wrote:I have run into a problem with running Audacity on Windows 10. Please see Windows 10 Audacity Internal PortAudio error or no devices. That is, if the sound card is a built-in device, go to the web site of the computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer and look for Windows 10 audio drivers for your specific computer or motherboard.
One of the the solutions that often works is to go back to Audacity 2.0.3 if you cannot obtain drivers that Audacity can work with. See the above link and the link posted within that topic.

Re: Running Audacity with Windows 10
I have Audacity 2.1.1. The soundcard that I have is a Sound Blaster SB1095 USB. I have tried unplugging the soundcard and plugging it back in and Audacity still doesn't recognize it. Audacity is the ONLY program that this happens with. I have been using WavePad and it works fine with my soundcard.

Re: Running Audacity with Windows 10
Have you installed what appear to be the recommended Windows 10 drivers for SB 1095: http://support.creative.com/Downloads/s ... wDetails=1 ?incubus442 wrote:I have Audacity 2.1.1. Also note, if you plug an external sound card in after launching Audacity, use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices in the Audacity menu bar.
