I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I spent the last hour searching for an answer for my issue with no luck.
I'm running Audacity 2.1.1 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm recording with a Rode NT1-A condenser microphone through a Zoom H6 recorder. My recording volume as shown on the Audacity graph is very low. I have the recording volume on the Zoom set to it is just short of distorting but my recording volume is weak even though I have the mic setting in Audacity set to it's highest level. I never had this problem with my previous version of Audacity. Although I downloaded 2.1.1 when it first came out, this is the first time I've used it to record since I got it. I've tried just about everything I can think of with no luck.
I would appreciate any help anyone can offer with this. Please don't get too technical because you'll just lose me. I'm not an idiot but I'm not a audio expert by any stretch of the imagination so please keep any replies in plain English.

Re: Recording volume very low...
What happens if you record a short performance on the H6 with good H6 sound meters and transfer the sound file to the computer?I'm recording with a Rode NT1-A condenser microphone through a Zoom H6 recorder.
