Using the Record Button In Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)
Hi, I just kind of need help. I am using Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode) through a Windows 7 operating system and I am trying to test the record button in Audacity but when I try to an error message comes up. The message says "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." I also clicked on edit, looked at the preferences section, and then checked the devices section but Audacity couldn't detect any recording device. What can I do so that Audacity could record audio through Windows 7? Thanks for any help?

We can't help you with that obsolete and probably very buggy version of Audacity. Please read the pink panel at the top of the page. I strongly suggest updating to the latest 2.1.1 version from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.forumuser84688 wrote:I am using Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode) through a Windows 7 operating system
That is what you need to fix. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... es#vistacp for how to enable audio devices in Windows.forumuser84688 wrote:Audacity couldn't detect any recording device
