latest version of audacity

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

Will i be able to use the latest Version of audacity 2.1.1 in my Home Edition of Windows XP ?-mickthefish.

You will need to have Service Pack 3 installed (or Service Pack 2 if you are on 64-bit Windows XP). Also the CPU must support SSE2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2. See http://audacityteam.org/download/windows#sysreq.
