level anomaly when recording
My mic level has to be high when the line is mixed with it because the mic level drops in Audacity with a high line level input mixed in. I use the 4 channel audio microphone mixer from Radio Shack plugged into the line input of my Acer laptop. I am using 1.3.7 beta version.
Re: level anomaly when recording
Turn off the Automatic Gain Control (AGC).
I don't know where the setting is located, it could be anywhere, but try looking at all the icons near the system clock. Failing that check the Windows control panel. Manufacturers like to hide this setting, but you need to find where the recording "enhancement" settings have been hidden and switch them off.
If you find them, please post details as there are a few other users struggling with this at the moment.
