Hello. Just noticed right now. I have simple headphones with microphone and one button on it.
When Audacity is Recording and I press this button — then Recording stops.
It's deliberate action? Just interested how it works.

The question is does it go back on again when you push it the second time. If all you do is stop the data stream, Audacity might crash, but then it won't come back again without restarting.

I take it you are on Windows, is that so? Then please tell us your exact version of Windows and Audacity (all three numbers from Help > About Audacity...) .
In future, if you need help or have found a problem, please post in the Windows board (as it says in the pink panel at the top of this page).
You can't expect us to answer your questions properly without giving us any information to go on. What is the make and model number of the headset? What action is the headset button supposed to perform?
