How is Audacity better than other recording apps?

We have users that own much larger audio production programs and use Audacity because it's simpler and faster for smaller jobs. That and it's free, inexpensive and doesn't cost anything.

It's normally thought of as a defect, but Audacity refuses to apply filters and effects on recording. If you got a bad sounding show, chances are good that's what your show actually sounds like. Windows is famous for causing recording problems with its conference and effects processing. Use Audacity as a quality standard to correct the processing settings.
