Help with voice isolation

Post by alen1234di » Sun Jan 18, 2015 7:37 am

I have been trying out a few guides and plug-ins and such to isolate the voice in this audio clip:(http://vocaroo.com/i/s10oYil0knCP)

Nothing really seems to be working. voice removal works but then inverting and rendering doesn't.
I know this isnt really the place for it but i as wondering if you guys could help me out with this.
I have heard that it is really difficult to do, but maybe i can end up learning something in the end.

i saw something like this done on another post, but i have no idea how they did it. (http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 51#p137251)

Some notes: it is important to keep the 40 sec as well as all the beeps/numbers/levels.
Thanks in advance -alen1234di

Hi...

(1) The first thing you need to do is upload an actual sound file (wav, mp3, etc.), not an URL to a player.

(2) If you want, I can provide the contact info of the guy who did this work for me:

Before:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xquribj2u05cg ... 0.mp4?dl=0
(The annoying noise begins at minute 1 and persists all the way to the end, for 40 minutes)

After:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3bd8n1sxdummp ... e.mp4?dl=0

I used to hang out JFK forums. That task above re-routed me to audio forums.

I gave a brief description of what I did in this post: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 51#p137251

Trebor used "knockout" in his attempt: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 70#p137270
Knockout is no longer being developed but is still available here: http://web.archive.org/web/201309291145 ... st3pan0va/

yes, i saw knockout on a tutorial and got it but i have no idea how to use it. all of my results were useless. the audio clip works perfectly with vocal remover but, using knock out to subtract doesn't work. i also tried inverting and mix/render. the wiki and download page are sites i have already seen but haven't helped much. I feel like i have reached a dead end :(

I don't think that it is worth the effort.
It is hardly more than a mono file (87 % correlation).
Neither helps Noise Reduction to remove the music.
It would be better to record all anew. The special sounds can of course be reused (they are quite isolated in the beginning).

Just as a little experiment:
- center isolation (2D Stereo Toolkit, very narrow center)
- noise gate -15 dB threshold, 60 dB reduction

The music will still be audible during speech and there are also drum hits inbetween that have to be removed manually (Ctrl-L silences a selection)
fitness.mp3
(633.06 KiB) Downloaded 40 times

I finally got some progress. the demo for voice trap v2 did about half of it then i just manually cut out each mid section with Ctrl+L like Robert said. Thank you guys so much :D :D :D :D
