The spectrum may be viewed by switching the track to the "Spectrogram" or "Spectrogram (log f)" view: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... tml#spgram

Horizontal lines indicate the presence of a tone or a narrow band of frequencies. If the band is high in the spectrum, that may be audible as a high pitched whistle sound. horizontal lines can be filtered out using the notch filter: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/notch_filter.html

To filter out high frequencies, use the low pass filter: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/lo ... ilter.html

To filter out low frequencies, use the high pass filter: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/hi ... ilter.html

For more complex filtering, see the Equalization effect: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/equalization.html

The next version of Audacity will include additional tools for spectral editing.

After selecting the whisle, whiсh is necessary to remove, and clicking the "Speсtral edit multi tool" appears:
I want to avail myself of the " Speсtral edit multi tool", to remove selected frequency, not to enter its value in "Notch filter".

Look in the Audacity plug-ins folder and find the file: SpectralEditMulti.ny
Please attach that file to your reply using the "upload attachments" feature below the message composing box.
