How to create a radio/walkie talkie style similar to this?

Hey Audacity gang, I'm back with another question!

if 2:35 was his normal vocals, 2:40 is the radio effect I'm after

What kind of settings can I use to replicate this effect?

Apply the "am radio" equalization curve preset 3 or 4 times,
Then apply "leveller" on "light" setting -30dB which adds distortion ...
