Does it bother anybody else that we all have favorite versions of 1.3 that we find workable and useful and reasonably stable (in spite of the category)...and they're all different?
I like Mac 1.3.5, but there are happy users of 1.3.3, 1.3.4, and 1.3.6. Even more uncomfortable is the idea that the happiness goes down as the version goes up. I have a temporary version of 1.3.7 that has some serous problems--and that's the release candidate for 1.4.0

Re: Your Favorite 1.3...
I'd have to say that 1.3.4 (PC) seemed to have the lowest aggravation level of all the beta's (and I've been using the beta version since 1.3.2). There were some problems in there but none, like some of the changes that were introduced in 1.3.6, have caused.

Yeah. 1.3.6 comes up a lot as the software that people want to downgrade from because of damage or other unfortunate event.

Re: Your Favorite 1.3...
On Windows XP I found 1.3.4 to be the most stable and problem free, though I also like 1.3.6, and use it regularly in spite of it having a few bugs.
ASAIK 1.3.7 is currently an alpha version, so it's not really a fair comparison when looking at things like stability and absence of bugs.
1.3.6 looks very promising on Linux, though I am currently using the standard 1.3.5 version from the Ubuntu Intrepid repository. The 1.3.6 version for Linux currently needs to be built from the source code - I'll get round to trying this version again when I have some free time, but I'm still looking for advice on getting Audacity to work with jackd.
1.3.5 is pretty good on Linux, but does not seem to support jackd.

Re: Your Favorite 1.3...
I used 1.3.5 for a long time with no problems - upgraded to 1.3.6 recently and no problems encountered (apart from trying to find a few things that have been moved around in the UI).
