Repeating-audio project playback

Post by sparksfingers » Wed Mar 05, 2014 3:50 pm

Hi - I'm new to Audacity use. When I press record to record a second audio, the first audio plays-back. I'm practicing the programme to become
familiar. I'm trying to record a second audio in order to tag it to the first. (Then I aim to bolt it to the first recording to make one project.) Hope I've made it clear to the forum! Thanks in advance for guidance.

You can make the original audio stop playing with a setting.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Overdub (de-select).

You can make your own live audio stop playing with another setting.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [_] Playthrough (de-select).
