3.4 Bug with Key commands

Being that I often master long lectures, and the most frequently used functions are stop and delete, I programmed the Spacebar to Stop and Set Cursor, and the letter "X" to delete, so Idon't have to take my other hand off the mouse. However, if I Use "Ctrl-X" to Cut out some audio, pressing "X" after selecting audio will delete all the audio in the track.

So I re-programmed the keys so that the letter "C" was for delete instead. Well, I get the same problem. This is particularly annoying. I am using 3.4 to get around the sampling issues in the Equalizer in 3.6. Any hints??

As an aside, is there any way to program a key shortcut to play in transcription mode? In other words, if I want all the audio played back fast without having to click the green triangle every time, which is frustrating due to its small size and proximity to the speed selector (I'm always accidentally clicking on the slector, making it go back to zero)?

I can't reproduce that exactly, but the following is reproducible every time:

1) Select part of a track
2) Press Ctrl+X and the selection will be deleted.
3) Press Ctrl+X (again) and the whole track will be deleted.

The reason this happens is because of an option in Audacity Preferences;
On the "Interface" tab, "select all audio in project if none selected".
If you remove the tick from this option, step 3 will just bring up the message "Disallowed" rather than deleting the track.

Not exactly what I meant. The key is, perhaps, that I reprogrammed the "x" key to Delete audio. After Ctrl-X or Ctrl-Z for that matter is pressed, pressing the "x" key with any audio selected (or not) will delete all audio. It will go away after a few minutes.
