Audacity as music player ?

Post by mindoculus » Sat Oct 19, 2013 11:09 pm

Normally I use Winamp but I just happen to play a file on Audacity and found the clarity and punch amazingly better.

Unfortunately I just don't see how Audacity can serve as a music player.

Winamp sounds muffled, limp, almost lifeless.

What gives ? Anybody else experience the same ?

What if you play the work through Windows Media? Any difference?
Some players have special effects you can apply during playback like "Concert Hall" or "Disco." One of the IT people left "Carnegie Hall" running on a machine I was testing and it made me crazy.

You’ll find punch and clarity in foobar2000 too.
