Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
Do the Focusrite Scarlet USB output SPDIF on 1 & 2 ?
Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
The other niggle is in addition to deleting tracks 1-4 each time I have to make track 5 left & 6 right to make them stereo.
Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
I found I can select inputs 1 & 2 to connect to 5 & 6 S/PDIF outputs of my Saphire sound card with garage band. Works fine. But I miss Audacity. I like the layout, display & functionality of Audacity.
Maybe one day rerouting of inputs will be made possible. Keep up the good work developers.

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
You can join tracks 5 and 6 to make a stereo pair by opening the track drop down menu from track 5 and select "Make Stereo track" (no need to set the channels - track 5 will automatically become left and 6 will become right).Pobinr wrote:The other niggle is in addition to deleting tracks 1-4 each time I have to make track 5 left & 6 right to make them stereo.

Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
I hope one day it's possible with Audacity to remap inputs. It's much nicer to use than garage band.

Thanks. Your vote has already been counted but I do suggest you post in http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 61#p206661 encouraging the developer to resume the work he had started.Pobinr wrote:I hope one day it's possible with Audacity to remap inputs. Re: Focusrite Saphire 14. Can't select correct input
Hi
I've decided I much prefer Audacity to Garage band. Audacity's more intuitive. So I want revert to Audacity with my new sound card. But has the mapping problem been solved?
Referring back to my OP.
'The stereo guitar sound from my Focusrite sound card is going via firewire then thunderbolt adapter into my Mac. It appears for some reason on inputs 5 & 6 of Audacity. However Audacity won't let me select 5 & 6 as inputs. When I select for example input 6 & record. I get 6 tracks appear (1 to 6) with my guitar sound on the bottom two (5&6).
I obviously only want two tracks for stereo guitar. So how can I achieve this without also getting tracks 1 to 4 on screen ?
Ideally if I could get the focusrite to send to tracks 1 & 2 of Audacity so I can then select that input as 1/2 stereo but how can I achieve this ?'

There has been no more work on this recently.Pobinr wrote:I've decided I much prefer Audacity to Garage band. Audacity's more intuitive. So I want revert to Audacity with my new sound card. But has the mapping problem been solved?
Of course if you compile Audacity you can try the patch yourself. If the patch no longer compiles then you can checkout Audacity from the time of the patch then it will compile. Here is some help with compiling: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Building_On_Mac .
