Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Thanks, Steve, for confirming. I hate to have to do reinstalls -- they always seem cumbersome and messy -- but it may be the best fix. I appreciate the support (moral and otherwise!)
Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Well, a reinstall seems to have solved the Tremolo problem. I still have to load in the peripherals to allow me to save mp3's, but Audacity is back to normal so far. Thanks for the assist!

You're welcome.
Any idea how it went wrong in the first place?

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Whatever it was, it wasn't intentional... and it wasn't the result of anything I'm aware of. I'll keep an eye on what happens if/when I run any new programs which might have affected Audacity, but I suspect I'll never catch the little green men.

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Thanks for the help that was given to my previous Nyquist problem. Reinstalling seems to have fixed it. But now there's a NEW one! I downloaded 2.0.4 the day it came out. I was excited about the "Buzz Tone" option under the "Generate" menu. However, every time I've tried it, I've gotten an error message saying "Nyquest did not return audio". I don't know what that means! I've tried several other "Generate" items, and even when all the defaults are left as they are, I still get the same message. Is there a way to reset or reinstall Nyquist? Thanks for any knowledgeable assistance!

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Try running it again but press the "debug" button instead of the OK button.djblanch wrote:I've gotten an error message saying "Nyquest did not return audio".
After the plug-in has completed there will be another window open - this is the "debug window" that may contain information about what went wrong. Copy that information into your reply.

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
Thanks. What I got when I pressed Debug was "error: unbound function - MULT". Does that help, doc? :-}

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
While we're at at it, 2.0.4 won't let me import audio into an existing track, which I WAS able to do in 2.0.3. (I couldn't open a sound file, but I could create a new file in Audacity, put in empty tracks, then import a sound file.) The message below is what I got from the crash report when I tried to import a sound titled "MBuzz1min.wav" (no odd characters or spaces). I'm running OS 10.7.5 on a MacBook. I'd appreciate any feedback from knowledgeable diagnosticians, which I'm definitely not. Thanks!

Re: Nyquist returns value... but why???
This is similar to your original problem. "MULT" is a standard Nyquist function. If MULT is unbound then there's something badly wrong with your Audacity installation because part of it is missing/not found.djblanch wrote: What I got when I pressed Debug was "error: unbound function - MULT".
This should not keep happening. Does your computer have other problems? How regularly does your computer crash? Can you check that the hard drive is OK? Can you check the computer RAM?
Sorry I can't help with the crash report, I don't use Macs.

This is a known issue and we're working on it.
