can't play a file i imported

can't play a file i imported

hyall,
i started with audacity, i imported a music track it's displayed as a waveform with all the information i need to know , that are related to this file, and when i pressed the button " play " the cursor just cross the track so fast, making a stange screeching noise at a high speed ... can't listen to this track...can anybody help and tell me what i'd have to do to solve this prob?

You are trying to play a file that is in an unsupported format (probably a wma, AC4, MP4 or something). You need to decode the file into a supported format. On Windows there is a free program called SUPER by erightsoft that should be able to convert it.
