Audacity with WxWidgets embedded?

Post by lmemsm » Sun Mar 03, 2013 2:31 pm

Am curious if anyone's been able to build Audacity on Linux or FreeBSD using WxWidgets embedded? Would like to find a way to build Audacity without the GTK+ requirement. There's a port of WxWidgets that works straight with X. Was also considering the possibility of trying the Windows version of WxWidgets with Nano-X's microwindows port. Just curious if anyone's had any luck with something like this. Has anyone been successful with building Audacity on Linux or FreeBSD without GTK+? Is anyone else interested in trying to get something like this working?

Having seen some of the difficulties in getting wxWidgets to work properly cross-platform I'd expect that getting Audacity to work with wxEmbedded would be a major undertaking.
