cannot get the converter to work properly

Post by kafaba » Sat Feb 23, 2013 4:31 pm

I just purchased and installed the cassette to usb converter. I have tried everything I can think of to get this going. Nothing works. When I choose the usb input,it turns the unit off. When I record with the unit in the built-in input, it records but picks up all the background noise in the house. What am I doing wrong? Mu system is a Mac osx 10.7.5. I installed Audacity directly from the cd in the package. Please help.

Get the latest Audacity 2.0.3 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac .

Then follow this http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/re ... ables.html (it is for USB cassette converters too).

Connect the converter first then start Audacity.

If the converter has a headphones jack you can buy a cable to connect headphones to the Mac audio input and then record from the audio input.

Audacity does not make cassette converters. Please return the converter if it does not work.
