Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the
current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems
HERE.

I am using Audacity 1.3 on an Intel iMac. I can't access the help files from the Help menu.
When I choose 'Index' from the Help menu, I get:
"You don't appear to have Audacity help files on your machine. Either download the help files and then access them again from Audacity by clicking Help then Index, or click here to read the full Manual online."
I've downloaded the Audacity manual in HTML format from this page:
http://audacityteam.org/help/documentation
and installed the resulting manual files in the Audacity folder, but still get the above message.
Can anyone help

I don't use Macs, but I guess that as a workaround you could just create a desktop shortcut to the index page of the help files. Since the help files are in HTML format, they just open in your web browser, so another option would be to make a bookmark/favourite to the index page in your web browser.
