Multi track issues...
Ok, after I've recorded one guitar track, and lay down another separate track, and play back the two simultaneously, the second track is playing at an increased speed and pitch, and the first track is still normal. WHY? Another thing...I am mic-ing my amp and running it into an external interface(M-Audio FastTrack) and when I try to record stereo, the stereo tracks are there on the monitor, but it's only recording, and playing back in mono. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks~!
Re: Multi track issues...
Try changing the default sample rate - if it is set at 44100, change to 48000, if at 48000 change to 44100.JBauer315 wrote:the second track is playing at an increased speed and pitch,
To change the default sample rate, go to "Edit > Preferences > Quality"
Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and change the number of channels from "1 (mono)" to "2 (stereo)"JBauer315 wrote:when I try to record stereo, the stereo tracks are there on the monitor, but it's only recording, and playing back in mono.

Re: Multi track issues...
With the stereo issue, when I set it to stereo, it is only recording in one side and playback is in one side of the headphones.

Check your leads.
Also, this is a USB device? If so:
Close Audacity.
Use the "safely remove hardware" and shut down all instances of the M-Audio.
Switch off, or disconnect the M-Audio from the computer and leave it off for a short while (20 seconds)
Reconnect/switch on the M-Audio and wait for Windows to detect and connect to the M-Audio (do not rush - give it at least 30 seconds)
Restart Audacity and try again.

Re: Multi track issues...
Thank you. Increasing the project rate to 48000 did the trick. Now, how about the stereo issue? Can you record a mic in stereo? Every time I try to record in stereo it only is showing up in one side of the track.

"A" mic in stereo? you mean "one" microphone?JBauer315 wrote:Can you record a mic in stereo?
