Bad Right channel
When I imported an MP3, the right channel is loaded with noise. I can only hear the recorded audio if I slide the channel selector all the way to the "L". Can the right channel be deleted
Does anyone know of a repair feature? The MP3 plays without problem in media player, but when it imports to Audacity the right channel is overloaded with noise. I am running Audacity 1.3.5 on a PC with XP. Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions.

Is this just with one particular file, or is it with all audio?AC-in-TN wrote:When I imported an MP3, the right channel is loaded with noise. I can only hear the recorded audio if I slide the channel selector all the way to the "L".
Yes. Click on the name of the file, then select "Split Stereo Track"AC-in-TN wrote:Can the right channel be deleted
You can then delete the bad track.
The remaining track will be set to play through either the right or left channel, so you now need to click on the name of that track and change it to "Mono".

That worked! Thank you, StevetheFiddle! The audio sounds a bit more Alvin & the Chipmunks, but at least it's not smothered by horrible electronic noise. I may be able to doctor the audio by slowing it down and giving it a bit of bass. Won't hurt to try. Meanwhile, my sincerest thanks to you!
