Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules
ImageThis forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Works sporadically

I'm running Audacity 2.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.6.8. When I'm editing a piece of music I only seem to be able to perform one edit. Then everything (cut, export, etc.) greys out and I need to close the file, save as an .aup, and then reopen to perform another edit or to export as any other kind of file. What's going on, please?

You must have the track in STOPPED mode and not just PAUSED in order to do any editing.
