I'm using Audacity 2.0.0 on Windows 7 x64 SP1 (Home Premium) . I haven't had this problem before, but all of a sudden I cannot export as a WAV file. I tried using AIFF instead, but it didn't work eaither. The error for the WAV file is;
"Error while writing WAV (Microsoft) file (disk full?). Libsndfile says..." Then it says a bunch weird accents, symbols and that box used when you don't have the text (I'm assuming gibberish)
I can use FLAC, and just convert, but I'd really like to get to the root of the problem. I've tried re downloading, changing names and I do have HD space. Please, can anyone help me?
Can't export as WAV or AIFF file.

Re: Can't export as WAV or AIFF file.
You may have run into the filename problem. Don't put dates or other punctuation marks into your filenames. It can drive the computer nuts. Today is not 6/20/12, it's 20120620. No slashes, no periods, no commas, etc.

That usually indicates that there is invalid metadata.Fgmaniac wrote:"Error while writing WAV (Microsoft) file (disk full?). Libsndfile says..." Then it says a bunch weird accents, symbols and that box used when you don't have the text (I'm assuming gibberish)
Go to "File menu > Open Metadata Editor"
Then click on the "Clear" button, then on the "OK" button.
Then try exporting.

Thank you Steve, it worked! Strange though, because the Metadata was empty to begin with. Nonetheless, kudos for fixing my problem!
Re: Can't export as WAV or AIFF file.
Probably not quite "empty". There was probably a bit of "invisible garbage" in there causing the problem.Fgmaniac wrote:Strange though, because the Metadata was empty to begin with.
Glad it's working now
