Hello
I used Audacity 1.2.6 (in windows7 pro) for the very first time tonight to record a concert. After it recorded for about 2.5 hours, I hit save.
It wouldn't save, gave me an error which unfortunately I couldn't make note of.
I exported data to a wav file, and the progress bar started across at a reasonable rate.
I shut down audacity, and when I got home, the files size of the wav file is 44 bytes.
I am sure the data must be in a temporary file somewhere, but cannot find it.
I am using Windows7, and can find an audacity_1_2_temp folder, inside of "C:usersgruebaneAppDataLocalTemp" - but it is empty.
Anyone have a clue where I can look, and if this data might be recoverable?
thanks for any tips.

Re: lost file
Sorry, your recording is not recoverable.
This is a known problem with Audacity 1.2.6 on Vista and Windows 7.
Audacity 1.2.6 is obsolete (it was written before Win 7 was invented).
The current version of Audacity (which does not have this problem) is Audacity 2.0.

Re: lost file
Thank you Steve for the reply and information.
It is an "office" laptop, maybe I can get them to upgrade before my next concert.
