Making a note longer in Audacity

Post by akwarybka » Sat Apr 14, 2012 12:37 am

I'm working on Audacity 1.3.13-beta (ANSI) from the .exe installer, Widows 7.

I've been editing some music, and what I've been trying to lenghten one note in the song. Copy and paste dosen't do well because of the ''clipping''. What should I do?

For Windows 7 you should be using a "Unicode" version, not the "ANSI" version. I'd recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 2.0 Unicode. You can get it here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows
The correct download for Win 7 is marked as:
Audacity 2.0 installer (.exe file, 19.8 MB, including help files) for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7

In the Effect menu look for the "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" effect.
Instructions for using it are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Effect_Menu#slide
9/10 questions are answered in the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
