Recording Problems

Post by texdrumr » Sun Apr 01, 2012 10:26 pm

I'm trying to record myself playing the drums along with my ipod. I have all my drums mic'd and running through a mixer along with my ipod. The output is split - one to my ears, the other to the computer/audacity. I can get it mixed to sound really good when I play it back through earbuds, BUT, when I try to listen to it through my computer's external speakers, it sounds really distorted. I'm exporting these files to mp3-fyi.

Thanks for any help.

You should have stayed in Mac-land. Are you plugged into the Mic-In of your laptop? That generally doesn't work very well. Scroll down to Connections.
