Selecting in chunks

Post by descolada » Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:22 am

Hello,

Installation: Windows 7 Pro SP1, Audacity 2.0.

I have been trying to select a part of a recording to trim, but the selection jumps in accordance with the timeline numbers (i.e. if I start at the beginning of my track and try to select it will jump in a chunk to 1.0. I can't seem to get it to 'free select'. It's like the 'snap to' function on drawing software.

Has anyone seen this behavior or is there a setting to set the 'chunk' size?

Thanks

Descolada

almost certainly you have inadvertently turned on Snap To

Look at the bottom left of the Audacity Window and uncheck the Snap To box
