I use audacity as a mean to analyze sound. I would like to know what is the meaning of the numbers on the left when I define the waveform?
also when i get a txt. file of the spectrum analysis there is no indication about the time units.
What have i to do un order to get this info?
thanks
avigail
p.s. If you know a better tool to analyze acoustic parameters i will be happy to know
music analysis outputs

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

You don't - it's amplitude against frequency (two dimensional).avigail wrote:when i get a txt. file of the spectrum analysis there is no indication about the time units. What have i to do un order to get this info?
You can see spectrograms against time:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/index. ... enu#spgram
using the Track Drop-Down Menu:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/index. ... -Down_Menu
but there is no text print out.
If you want a text print out of sample values over time, try Sample Printer:

Try http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/ (I do not use it, but it is free).avigail wrote:If you know a better tool to analyze acoustic parameters i will be happy to know
