Stereo Mix recording issues.

Hi Guys,

I've searched high and low for an answer for this but can't find anything. If I've double posted It would be much appreciated if you could direct me to the right place.

So I'm using Audacity to record my football (soccer) podcast and I'm having issue's bringing guests onto the show utilising Skype. So I'm using 1.3.14-beta and so far it's been great except for this above problem. So I've changed the Preferences>Devices>Recording and put it into 'Stereo Mix' with my Playback set to my speakers and interface host as MME. Now I've tried and tried again to get Audacity to record with Skype. I've updated my drivers and checked everything. So what happens is I start to record audio with Audacity and then ring someone. As soon as they answer the line cuts out and the call is ended. If I start the call and then try to record it comes up with this message; "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate".

I'm stumped!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Skype is a known source of trouble for Audacity.
Skype takes control of the sound card so that the voip call will work, but in doing so it interferes with Audacity. Personally I'd not recommend using Audacity to record from Skype. There are much better tools for that job, such as "Pamela Skype recorder" (commercial software, but there is a free version that can record calls of up to 15 minutes duration).
