Changing the bassline frequency
Is there way to change the bassline frequency of a song? Say a song has a 40 hz bassline, (like in a hip-hop song) and I wanted to change it to 28 can I do it? I've done some reading and messing around, and tried it with the "Change Pitch" and it seems to work, but instead of just playing the bassline like normal, it just makes a weird sound, like it's cutting in and out really fast with with static. Am I doing this wrong? Or is this possible?

28 Hz
Even these beasts only go down to 35 Hz: http://www.thomann.de/gb/dynacord_corus ... ub_218.htm and they're the size of a wardrobe.
I would not expect the Change Pitch effect to cope well with such low frequencies.
If you just want more base there are probably low frequencies that you can boost using the Equalizer effect http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Equalization
Note that if you try and push too much bass through speakers that can't handle it, it will not only sound bad but may cause permanent damage to the speakers.

Re: Changing the bassline frequency
My old car system played great down to 26 hz, new setup should do the same if not lower
Know a couple people who can play down to 22 hz too
Been messing with the pitch shift a bit and I think I've gotten it better. Don't have the system yet so I can't really test it out lol, but seems to work with my headphones.
