Editing fiile in Homegroup

I have a Windows 7 home network of 2 PCs. For a variety of reason, I use one PC (PC1) to record audio off my LPs and I'd like to use the other PC (PC2) for splitting the big file into tracks. I can "see" and open the Audacity files from PC1 on PC2, but when I open the files they have no audio in them - they are the correct length in terms of time, but are silent. Yet, when I open them on PC1, the files are fine.

Any thoughts? I assume this may be some kind of sharing issue, but I think I have all the correct settings to share.

The references to the audio data are relative to the file system of the other machine.
If, as a very simple example, your project is save to C: on PC1 (not recommended, but just as an example) and you are trying to open it remotely, Audacity will look to C: on PC2 for the audio data and find no data.

For the project to open correctly on PC2 computer, you could copy or move the project from PC1 to PC2 by:
1) Check that any dependencies are copied into the project.
2) Copy or move both the .AUP file and the _data folder into one directory on PC2.
