Problems with Equalization preview...

Post by takm » Wed Sep 10, 2008 10:34 pm

I'm having problems to use the effect Equalization while using the preview function.
The first time i change the equalization graphic and press preview, it works without problem.
If i press again to preview it uses a flat equalization regardless the changes i've made. That's all i have to report... Thank you.

Yes, this is a known problem. It has now been fixed in the latest development version, so you may well want to upgrade to 1.3.6 when it is released (keep an eye on the main Audacity web site download page).

You may be able to make it sound less muffled by turning up the higher frequencies (take care that you do not make the sound so loud that it distorts - if the waveform hits the top or bottom of the track it will distort. To avoid that problem you can use the Amplify effect to reduce the level before using the Equalizer.

Whether this works or not depends on why it sounds muffled. If the high frequencies are missing, no amount of boost will bring them back.
