how do you record in the center of a track

Post by suttlemyre » Fri Dec 30, 2011 11:20 pm

Track one--- Rythm guitar

Track two-- vocals

Now i would like to add a lil backup vocals in a few places. Do you have to start all the way back at the beginning ? that is what i have been doing or can you start another track only where needed? Lets say i only want to add vocals to the chorus.I think these many track recordings are adding to my noise problem with this low cost computer and sound card.

Click in any track at the place you want recording to start, then press Record. The recording will start from that point in a new track.

You can record at the end of selected tracks (or all tracks if none are selected) by holding SHIFT then pressing Record.

If some tracks are finished, you can select them by holding SHIFT then clicking above their Mute / Solo buttons. Then Tracks > Mix and Render to make them into one track.
