Muting music
Audacity is nice, but I can't mute the sound of music while I speak. You can turn the music softer, but in the final record file the music is as hard as the original recording. Who knows how I can fix this?
Re: Muting music
What is the job? What are you trying to do and how are you trying to do it? Too much detail is better than not enough.

Re: Muting music
You would probably find the Auto Duck functionality useful for this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Auto_Duck

Re: Muting music
What I understand (my English is not so good) is, that you handle this after making the program. I search for muting the music while recording. So muting for an few seconds and than to the normal level.

Yes.Koolmees wrote:you handle this after making the program
Record or import the music track(s).
Record your voice track.
Adjust the level of the music track(s) - either the Envelope Tool or the Auto Duck effect may be useful for this step (see links in previous posts)

Then 'Im afraid it's not the right program for me. It must be one record in one time.
Re: Muting music
In that case you need a mixing desk.Koolmees wrote: It must be one record in one time.
Is there some special reason why it has to be done live?

Re: Muting music
Maybe, but I think it must be possible with software.
