Pause button comes on when I press record

Pause button comes on when I press record

I am wondering how to keep the pause button from automatically depressing itself every time I press Record. Using the beta version, with Windows Vista. Was able to record on cassette and from then on, NADA. What is the fix for this error in the software?

Check the Transport menu - you probably have "Sound Activated Recording" turned on.

Yep, that was the problem. Yet one might want to change the verbage in the transport menu...as "sound activated recording" seems
completely logical and so was selected. If Audacity were to restate this to say "ONLY sound-activated record" or something to clarify

That would be "Auto Record Pause," wouldn't it?
