I have a Mac OS X 10.7.2
I have just purchased a Neostar cassette conversion system which I can get to recognise or be recognised by the Mac
I was advised by the retailer to download audacity - which I have done, version 1.3.13-beta (Unicode)
A casette is playing in the Neostar device but I cannot hear anything
I have opened Audacity and at one stage it appeared to be recording external sound i.e. a nearby radio and me on the keyboard but is not recognising the Neostar device.
There is now an error message
"Error whilst opening sound device. Please check the input device setting and project sample rate "
This is the second Neostar device as I could not get the first one to work
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
Thank you

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Neostar Cassette Conversion System
It probably connects to your Mac via the USB port, right?
If so, does this help?

Re: Neostar Cassette Conversion System
Hi Bill
Thank you for your reply.
Did as you suggested but got lost at Audio Midi set up as the description on the web page looks nothing like my screen and was not sure what I was meant to be doing
So, still no further on
Thanks

Re: Neostar Cassette Conversion System
So after step 7 in the description you still could get no sound into Audacity? You don't need to use Audio MIDI Setup if you get sound at that point.
As noted, those screenshots are from 10.5.8. Someone who has 10.7 will have to chime in with what it looks like in that OS.

This article that I have been working on regarding the resolution to this particular message may help too: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/User ... und_devicePoppy1 wrote: There is now an error message

It's not properly published yet as we haven't decided whether it should be in the manual or the Wiki
