Same problem. On Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2.
I downloaded Lame Library v3.98.2 for Audacity, installed the package "Lame Library v3.98.2 for Audacity.pkg".
But I'm unable to locate the file "libmp3lame.dylib" which should have been installed. It is as if it does not exist.
Thanks for help

Re: Cannot export MP3 in Lion
I don't use Macs, but I believe that the correct version of Audacity for Lion is 1.3.13 (this is the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum).

If you are already using Audacity 1.3.13 and still have a problem, this page may help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ: ... s#Mac_OS_X

Re: Cannot export MP3 in Lion
Thanks, I use Audacity 1.3.13 and of course I already consulted the page you suggested and the FAQ's as well, there is no hint for this issue, that's why I come to this forum.steve wrote:I don't use Macs, but I believe that the correct version of Audacity for Lion is 1.3.13 (this is the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum).

OK, I've moved your posts to the Audacity 1.3.x part of the forum.rogermichel wrote:Thanks, I use Audacity 1.3.13 and of course I already consulted the page you suggested and the FAQ's as well, there is no hint for this issue, that's why I come to this forum.
Did you try the "Alternative zip download for Lame 3.98.2 " ?

Re: Cannot export MP3 in Lion
I had some Twilight Zone problems with lame on my machine, too.
Try this.
Dig down to where the DyLib was supposed to go and trash it if it's there. On mine it's
/usr/local/lib/audacity/libmp3lame.dylib
You can go down there with the terminal tool or Go > Go To Folder with the gui.
Does Lion still have Utilties > Disk Utility > Verify Disk and Repair Permissions? Execute both of those and restart the machine. Don't do anything else. Now pull down a fresh lame and install it.

Re: Cannot export MP3 in Lion
Thanks Steve.steve wrote: Did you try the "Alternative zip download for Lame 3.98.2 " ?
I tried with Audacity v1.2.5 as well as with v1.3.13 in both versions I had the same problem.
The installation application of lame v3.98.2 seems not working properly, because after installation the file is not locatable.
Downloading the zip for lame 3.98.2 and storing somewhere the file libmp3lame.dylib resolves the problem!
Thus don't use Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.dmg but the zip file instead.
Thanks a lot for the hint
