I installed audacity one my new macbook pro but it won't' recognize the signal from my phone via iMic. I am a journalist and have used audacity in the past to record interviews.
Then i got the new computer, downloaded the program and it doesn't record..
What am I doing incorrectly?

Re: Recording via iMic
Maybe not very much. Did you select the USB device in the Input dropdown of the Audacity main window? What am I doing incorrectly?
Better, Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input.
What's selected there? Select your USB device and make sure the little blue ball sound meter bounces when you have a voice. That's very important. If you can't clear that step, nothing you do in Audacity is going to help.
My iMic is just a simple sound digitizer with a USB cable on it. How did you connect it to a telephone? That's difficult to do well.
