Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I have a recording that plays back only in the left channel. Is it possible to copy the data to the right channel so It can be heard in both channels? If so how is this done?

When you open your show on the timeline as blue waves, do you only have one set of waves instead of two like this?

If so, open the track menu with the dropdown on the left. Split Stereo Track. [X] delete the silent one. Duplicate the existing one with Control-D. Track menu > Make Stereo Track.

Some pieces of this may not work right if you're really in Audacity 1.2. That's a very old version. I don't have that version to mess with. See how far you get.

Once the bad track is gone, you can also use the track dropdown to "Make Mono Track." that will play out of both speakers even though it's only one channel.
