Recorded vocal switches to gurgling noise

Post by Thomas Engelhardt » Sat Oct 29, 2011 12:42 am

I’ve been working just find with Audacity for weeks now. All of a sudden, as in just a couple of days ago, the recorded vocal quality becomes awful part way through a song.

So, everything is find then in the middle of the song, the vocal goes gurgling. That would seem to point at some memory problem to me but I’ve no idea.

I’ve made no changes to the set up I’m using. sE2200a mic through a PHP1 Phantom Power supply into a 406M Mackie mixer through a Behringer U-control-UCA202 into my computer which runs Vista Home Premium.

I switched to Audacity 1.2 and recorded the song just find with making no other changes what so ever.
I’d rather work in 1.3 so I’m seeking advice and assistance. Any ideas?

Windows comes out of the box all ready for business conferencing and communications, not theatrical performances. Sometimes you can get caught in the Windows auto gain control and echo cancellation.
